What is the difference between different dual sim cards.

Power on/off dual sim cards

These devices are a budget cheaper dual sim card & come in 2 different forms ghost & digital we will cover the differences between these later on in the topic. Essentially this is a very primitive method of changing between the sim cards. You change sims by either turning the phone Off or On. When the phone restarts the device will automaticly alternate to the other sim card. The benefits of this type of device are that it works with all mobiles that have a short startup ie do not take long to start after switching on. We would recommend this kind of device on any smart phone or or if you wish to use data or 3g services.

Menu dual sim cards

These devices add a java menu into your mobile phone using the sim toolkit. Therefore you will find a menu on your mobile phone allowing you to switch between the sim cards. Whilst the device switches the signal on / off you do not need to power the mobile on or off with this device unlike the power on/off versions. This is the more popular version of dual sim and comed in the ghost & digital version.

Ghost dual sim cards & covers

The ghost dual sim card type of dual sim card does not require cutting as it allows you to insert both sim cards into seperate holders. The sim cards are connected to each other by a very thin ribbon connector. Normally the device would either sit underneath the battery or under the case. It is essential that the ghost dual sim card is inside the phone tight. If you imagine the information travells from one sim to the other via the very thin ribbon cable. Therefore if the 2 sim cards do not have a good contact the information will not flow freely and the device will not work correctly. If you do not have much room in which to put the device in to your mobile or cannot ensure the fitting is tight we would recommend the digial dual sim card . Not recommended to be used with PDA's or 3G (USIM) SIM cards unless stated on product description.

This digital dual sim card type of dual sim card allow you to insert both sim cards inside your sim card holder. The only negative point is that you need to cut the sim cards to enable them to fit inside this small unit. However all our digital dual sim cards come with the correct templates to allow you to cut very easily using a craft or stanley knife. You can also purchase a sim card cutter which clamps onto the sim card and cuts the required shape without you having to use any knife templates and instructions included.  therefore no extra bulk in your mobile. This is by far the best type of dual sim card as you have far less problems with having both sims working. have by far the best method of allowing you to use 2 sim cards in your mobile.
